Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actress. Also, she sings. Sara Ramirez was brought up by an American mother, and was subjected to a variety of racist taunts, which caused her to feel uncomfortable. If she attended school contests and received high praise for her singing, in ninth grade the young girl started to gain confidence. This not only increased her confidence but also shifted her goals for the future. She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree from the Julliard School in New York. Her professional career began at age 23 with Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and The You've Got Mail film. The character in The lad from The Lake was her most memorable success, and earned an award for her performance, an award called the Tony Award in addition to critical acclaim for her performance. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC her role was given greater recognition. A singer by profession, she's also produced a single as well as an extended piece. In addition, she's an activist who is a tireless advocate to protect LGBT rights.
