Silk was born in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. Silk is the daughter of Peter Silk, a professor and Ilkay, a playwright and director, who also became famous as an actress. Anna is awed by her mother's job in the theatre and going to rehearsals. Silk featured in a number of commercials when she was a kid. The Bachelor in Arts was awarded to her by St. Thomas University, 1997. Theatre St. Thomas has produced two shows in its early years: Seven Menusand The Kitchen. Silk moved to Toronto for further development of her acting career in the month of November 1999, and during the following decade relocated into Los Angeles, California. She met her soon-to-be husband, Seth Cooperman, at an actor's training in Los Angeles, in 2007. The couple was legally married in December of 2009. On April 10, 2011 the couple renewed their vows in a Jewish ceremony in Fredericton after she converted to Judaism.
